Csilla Rákosi:
Metatheoretical reconstruction of psycholinguistic experiments (Part I)

Abstract:
The paper focuses on a writing by Dedre Gentner and Phillip Wolff about the comparison of diverse model types of the metaphor comprehension process. We will follow their argumentation and try to reconstruct the steps they make with the help of the notions of the p-model of scientific theorising elaborated by Kertész & Rákosi. The aim of the presented case study is to show that the application of the p-model makes it possible to reconstruct and evaluate argumentation in experimental reports in psycholinguistics despite the fact that the experimental report replaces the original, real event with an edited, selective, informationally reduced picture.
