About the representation of text sentences in Semiotic Textology
Abstract:
In this study we present, through detailed examples, some global and semi-formal semiotic-textological representations of selected text sentences in a polyglot (i.e. Hungarian and English) context. The global nature of the representations presented here implies the use of various linguistic tools and methods (e.g. syntactic, functional and co-referential descriptions of the text sentence); whereas the semi-formal nature of the representations refer to the fact that we intend to elaborate a formal representation model. The model is intended to integrate several heuristic and semi-theoretical attempts for representing text sentences in order to provide a constructive and methodological approach which allows the phenomenon in question to be experimentally and critically analysed.
