A few remarks on Thomas Mann’s onomatology in Tonio Kröger
Abstract:
In this paper I will deal with the relevance that the names of the main characters have in the novel Tonio Kröger by Th. Mann. Therefore, I will try to show (1) the functional (and symbolic or metaphorical) value of these names in the story, and (2) the relationships that can be established between them from both a ‘formal’ and a ‘semantic’ viewpoint.
