Die kognitive Metapherntheorie als metalinguistisches Unterfangen
Abstract:
The paper shows that the cognitive theory of metaphor may motivate the elaboration of a fruitful approach to the investigation of certain aspects of scientific knowledge. Firstly, the metascientific extension of the cognitive theory of metaphor is suggested. Secondly, this metascientific approach is applied to the investigation of the metaphorical structure of linguistic theories. Thirdly, it is shown that the results of such a metascientific analysis of linguistic theories can be used to improve objectscientific research.
