Dániel Lakatos:
Die pragmatische Wende in der Argumentationstheorie

Abstract:
This paper investigates the complicated relationship between linguistic pragmatics and argumentation theory, focusing specifically on the problem whether (as many assert) argumentation theory is actually in a post-pragmatic situation. The analysis includes the presentation and evaluation of three main stages of the integration of pragmatic aspects into argumentation research: (1) the early integration attempts (e.g. practical semantics), (2) the pragma-dialectical approach and (3) the theory of argumentation schemes. One of the outcomes of the analysis is that the pragmatic turn has not come to an end in contemporary argumentation theory, so it is reasonable to conclude that argumentation theory can still receive fruitful ideas from pragmatics.
