Abstract:
In the article some insights into the discourse on language in the Habsburg Empire shall be given with the methods of the linguistic discourse analysis. In the focus of the empirical investigation is the use of the metaphors “flood” and “ribbon”. The article is written within the frame of the concept of mental orientated language historiography in the sense of Hermanns (1995).
